Review: MAC Later pigment from A Tartan Tale collection

Yesterday, I reviewed Moonlight Night, another pigment from MACs Holiday collection- A Tartan Tale.

Later is a beautiful shade-dry, it’s an inky black, with some violet sparkle.  But wet it, and it is a frosty, rich purple with a plethora of sparkles.

Perfect for a smoky eye, eye liner, rich contours….  And the texture is very nice and powder-not clumpy like some MAC pigments.

I haven’t had any issues with the wear on it, although it goes without saying that you need to use a primer under it, and that its most vibrant wet.

Which pigment is better for warmer skin tone? Later or Moonlight Night?

Probably Moonlight Night. The green sparkle is a bit warmer than the violet in Later.

That said, the base is totally black, so it may come down to what color you wear more, if you prefer to match your eye color, etc. I LOVE purple for drawing out brown/hazel eyes.

But strictly talking about skin tone, I think either could work, but Moonlight Night is a bit warmer. I saw Family Crest, though I skipped it, and that one is DEFINITELY warmer as well.

      Hope that helps!
