Review: Hourglass Femme Rouge in Whisper

I love Whisper.  It has a faint sheen to it, but no real shimmer, and the color is one of my favorite My Lips But Better pinks.  $28 is expensive, but it’s pigmented enough and wears long enough that you don’t need very much.  It may not be the most unique shade, but it is definitely a nicely pigmented, utilitarian color.  It’s not an especially creamy shade, so take care if you have “problem” lips with dry patches, lots of lines or uneven textures.  The packaging is sturdy and DOES feel expensive(which is good, given the price).

The color is fairly neutral, but does lean cool to my eyes.  It’s a slightly-duskier pink shade.  The color isn’t completely opaque, but is pretty close. It melts into the lips, and wears for a good 5-6 hours without incident.  There’s no visible shimmer, and while it has a slightly glossy look, it does NOT appear particularly creamy.  If you have dry or uneven lips, you may want to use a good balm and exfoliate before applying it.  It’s not very creamy, and while it didn’t emphasize my lip lines, it didn’t do anything to smooth them over.

The packaging stays closed really well, and is surprisingly heavy. It has the look of gunmetal steel, and is VERY elegant looking.
