Review: Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer in Nude

Tinted moisturizer is one of those things I WANT to like.  But since I have sensitivities that affect both foundation, and moisturizer/skincare purchases, I haven’t really settled on one I love enough to dispense with regular foundation.  Either the foundation part is invisible or the wrong color, or the whole thing aggravates my skin, or emphasizes oiliness.

For reference, I have PALE(paler than MAC NC15) skin, with some freckles/uneven pigmentation. There’s the beginnings of a few fine lines(genetic, I’m fairly sure) under my eyes, and on my forehead, but no real wrinkles or crow feet(since I’m 23.) There’s a fairly minimal amount of under eye bags and coloring. It is slightly oily, gets some hormonal acne/blemishes, though not a lot, and is VERY sensitive to skincare and foundation. I look for allergic reactions, or fragrance allergies when picking out facial products, almost before any other consideration.

Review: Ole Henriksen Day Cream spf 15

I am always happy to try new things, even when I probably SHOULD be sticking with the things that I KNOW work.  Especially as far as moisturizers go.  my Clinique Dramatically Different has done wonders, without causing breakouts.  Shouldn’t I be happy with that?  But how can I RESIST trying samples of whatever happens to be around when I buy a lot of makeup. I’m just not that strong of a person!

I waffled back and forth on whether I COULD do a full review of this.  I used it for nearly a week, and noticed so many more skin issues that I decided to cut my losses, and give up.  I wanted to love this very badly, I’m in love with the chamomile smell!  And I may well end up using it on my hands, just to enjoy that smell. But a nice smell isn’t worth painful breakouts and inflammations, and itchy-tingly-redness.

Review: Philosophy Cinnamon Buns shimmer lotion

I always feel a little silly writing about fragrances or lotions, since I know comparatively little about either.  I do love this one, though, and the scent is simple enough to where I don’t feel like I’m bluffing through it.

Review: Clinique Dramatically Different moisturizing lotion

For the sake of silliness, my cat Mitzi is modeling it.  Actually, it’s more because he usurped my usual photography window spot, and I felt too bad to make him move.

Usual disclaimer about my skin type/preferences.

Products that did not like me!(my skincare rants and cosmetic FAILs)

As of 5/27/10

these are products that I have had bad reactions to, or REALLY disliked.  Your mileage may vary.  I’ll update as things catch my attention, or as my feelings on products change(Hey, I can be forgiving when I want to be!)
